If you're a beginner like me, the best shop in terms of location is Academia, which is right next to the academy on the Mutsaard Straat.

They are apparently very friendly and helpful in there.

There is also Schleiper which is massive and on the Belgielei, very close to the studio. http://www.schleiper.com/

I have got my fair share of opinion on fashion, but my own artistic abilities will be tested this September when I join in on the beginners' workshop!
