Lagrange: Lust!
When I got an invitation to go to the presentation of Marc Lagrange's book Lust, I didn't have to think twice about accepting. Lagrange is one of Belgium's top photographers, and he's known for his daring and erotic, yet very feminine and classy style. So off I went to the Kasteel van Brasschaat, a superstylish location to be presenting nude photography!
To say that mostly pretty people showed up, would be an understatement. I'm suspecting most of the models featured in the book were actually invited, because I recognized quite a lot of them from the pictures. Slightly awkward, since none of the models are wearing anything in those pics, except maybe for a delicate thong or strategically placed curtains.

I was happy to bump into Emma Gelaude, who's recently started her own personal shopper business, and who was featured in several of the photographs as well. I'm thinking it was her in the newly revealed Martini campaign shot by Lagrange himself, but I didn't get a chance to ask her yet to verify. Nice pictures though! Very old school glamour. It's a shame she didn't get to pose with George Clooney, but the male models were not bad either.
So I looked at the pictures some more, drank some Martini Brut and lounged in the Martini chairs before I decided not to wait until the party would break loose. After all, I had seen a model who had forgotten (?) to put on a blouse underneath her blazer, and I was afraid of finding out what would happen if she was ready to party.

On the way out I got a look at the new book, which is to be released in April by Tectum Publishers (I love them, they also published Shophopper), and I liked what I saw. Elegant photography, and for once, not focused on getting as many Famous Flemish People as possible into one book. Nicely done. I've put a preview of my favorite photos below.
xx Steph
UPDATE: Apparently the girl in the Martini campaign is not Emma, but a very good look alike. Emma's in a bunch of other pics though, looking superstylish. Be sure to check out her blog!
