Prague by Louis Dijksman brings Haider Ackermann to Antwerp
Haider Ackermann may have graduated from the Antwerp Academy of Fine Arts years ago, but we have seen little of him since, despite critical, and now commercial, success.
In fact, he had no point of sale in all of Belgium.
Until now.
Prague, the second store by Louis Dijksman (the first is in Rotterdam), has just opened its doors in the heart of Antwerp's fashion district - and within it one will find Ackermann alongside other luxe labels like Rick Owens Lillies.
Prague has carried Ackermann in Rotterdam for awhile now, and actress-on-our-radar Tilda Swinton is a longtime buyer and friend, but it seems the larger fashion community is just now discovering him.
Maybe it's his sensuous and luxurious materials, draped ever so rightly, that justify investment status in these times of economic hardship. Maybe it's his big Hollywood connection. Or maybe people are starting to see his vision, and like where it's going.
I know I'm headed in that direction.
