A little while ago, I tested Karen Devriese's service: Fotokado.be. On her website, you can buy gift certificates to surprise friends and loved ones with a professional photoshoot. Of course you can also spoil yourself, like I did with the model-for-a-day treatment. Lucky for you, Antwerpisthenewparis.com gets to give away this treatment on a regular basis. The first one to win the Fotokado.be certificate was Delphine Callens, and you can read about her experience and see her pictures after the jump!

Delphine Callens was one of our readers who participated in last month's contest to win the fotokado treatment. She answered our question correctly (like most of you did, so we had to pick a name out of a hat!), and was sent to Denderhoutem to have a series of professional pictures taken by Karen, after being made up by make-up artist Sylvie De Boes. Delphine's assignment beforehand: take along the clothes in which you'd like to be photographed, and jot down how you felt and what you experienced when you return home. Below, you'll find what Delphine thought of her modeling day, and the results of the photo shoot. Don't forget to enter the new contest!

"The moment I found out I had won the contest, I started jumping around! Now that was a nice surprise after all of the hard work during the exam period."

"Even though Steph had clearly described what it would be like, I was still a little nervous. I didn't know whether the outfits I picked out would work, and I started worrying about modeling poses and facial expressions... But my nervousness disappeared quickly after I met Karen and Sylvie. They're really nice and try to comfort you right from the start."

"Posing wasn't easy, but luckily Karen helped me out a lot. She told me in which way to place my arm, which direction to look in,... I often look a little angry in pictures, so I'm really happy to have a few with me smiling in them."

"I felt really special the entire time. It's not every day you have your make-up done professionally! Sylvie did a really good job on my make-up, and she inspired me to take up a course myself."

"Choosing the outfits was really hard for me. I've been trying to work out a new style, a little more feminine. Mostly, I brought along basics: jeans, a strapless top, a little black dress, lingerie and a pair of heels. I also took some of my mother's necklaces with me."

"I'm most curious to see the more spontaneous pictures. The beauty look I found very difficult, so I'm a little anxious to see those. But on the whole, the experience was lovely. I had a great time, felt like a true model and I trust Karen completely."

Well it certainly looks like Delphine had a great time, and I personally think her pictures are drop-dead-gorgeous. The last ones even made me think a little of Mario Testino's shoot of Lady Diana. It goes to show you don't have to *be* a real model in order to feel like one, and end up with a beautiful series of pictures. I'm sure Delphine will be super pleased with the results! And maybe one of you is next...

We've already got our next winner for our monthly contest: Elise will be the lucky lady heading to Karen's studio for a professional photoshoot! Don't forget to check back regularly to find out how YOU can win next time!!

xx Steph
