Splurge vs. Save: Rick Owens
Like most living, breathing catwalk spectators, I would almost lay down my life for a Rick Owens leather bomber.
Even then, I would still probably be a few $$ short of affording one.

Rick Owens left €1744 and right €1731
Luckily, for the first time, well, ever, there seems to be a few worthy, albeit more price-friendly, substitutes on the market.
The first comes from Argentine label Doma. The cowl-neck jersey collar and assymetric zip will easily fool your friends into thinking it's an Owens. They don't need to know it's not, and less than half the price.

Doma €726 at www.net-a-porter.com
The other Owens-like label, Veda, hails from New York, where it recently opened its first flagship store. Our friends over at NY Mag's 'The Cut' were nice enough to snap some pics of the all-leather merchandise at the opening.
The way the vest and jacket below have been draped is a testament to their Owens-worthiness, with the jacket even adopting the trademark jersey side panelling.

Veda vest left €350 and jacket right €650
Not limited to traditional bombers alone, Veda has a vast selection of other covetable leather staples as well.

Veda blazer left €590 and silk-and-leather tank right €150
Happy bargaining!
